Luxuries on Cargo.
In continuation of my letter of the 18th. instant,
I have the honour to inform you that it has now been arranged to increase the rates of freight to direct European Ports on the following articles to 250s/- per ton of 40 cubic feet:-
Blackwood wire, Camphorwood Trunks, Chinaware, Cigars, Curios, Fans (Palm Leaf), Fans (not Leaf), Firecrackers, Ginger, Ginger (dry), Glass Bangles, Gongs, Human Hair, Joss Sticks, Lantems (wood) Lily Bulbs), Chinese Rice Paper, Preserves, Shells (1.0.P. and Common) and
Tobacco,
and on Sandalwood to 500/- per ton of 20 cwt.
